Which are the hottest places on the planet?


It’s just a few days since I have returned from my amazing trip to Vietnam and I am still having troubles adapting to the cold weather. I remember stepping out of the plane, at -4 degrees, and instantly thinking that I want to go back to the 34C that I have just left behind me, 13 hours before, in Saigon.

Now I am sitting on my couch with a cup of hot chocolate on the table and the electric heater at my feet and my cat on my lap. It’s very cold and I am a summer person. Born in summer, I love summer and I can tolerate high temperatures. That’s why I try to escape winter every year, by going to a warm place for around 3 weeks. And I tell you, there’s something about celebrating Christmas and New Year on a beach!

Sipping from my hot chocolate, a thought came up into my mind… which are the hottest destinations on the planet and how high the temperatures do get over there? What do you think?

  1. Well, I live in South Australia, and we are at 40 Degrees C at the moment – thank goodness for good air con 😀 I do love the hot weather though. Need to check out some of these places!

  3. I live in Las Vegas and I can support your choice in putting it on the list of hottest places on the planet. I’ve been living out here since 2003 and I’m still nowhere used to the heat!

  4. I’ve beed to Middle East and I can feel that it is really hot there. I never thought that there were a US states that is on the list.

  5. I passed by Death Valley when I was doing a road trip to California, we did not really go in the Death Valley. But I did remember the area is really hot and dry and my lip cracked so much! Glad to learn about other hottest area on earth.

  6. I like to escape every winter as well! It makes the winter go by a lot quicker when you know you get to leave for a little bit! This year we are going to California and Arizona in February 🙂

  7. Oh gosh I would MELT in 40 degrees plus!! My perfect temperature is around 25 degrees with a breeze, please! Aha. With my red hair and freckles, I’m not built for these temps, but some of the places look like they would be amazing to visit!

  8. My favorite desert I have been to so far is Arizona and Nevada USA. There is so much things to do in this two states. We actually planning to go back visit it again this year . You have a great list there some of it is on my bucket list.

  9. I live in Florida and it is hot enough here for me! I don’t think I would want to go to any of these places haha. Although maybe it would be different heat since most seem like they wouldn’t be as humid as it is here.

  10. I use to live in Phoenix and it’s bright and definitely hot! I also use to live in the Philippines and I just knew it would make this list as well because it’s definitely hot too!

  11. I visited Pheonix this summer and WOW was it hot! I think the lower humidity does make a difference though! Good to know about all of these places!

  13. Wow this is a great comparison. I’m not surprised that Arizona is among the hottest. We considered visiting there this winter to enjoy some heat and sun.

  15. The hottest place I have ever been too is Texas – I’m a wee Irish girl, so stepping off the plane and being hit up the face with that 40 degree humidity was HARSH!

  17. I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a beautiful island in the Caribbean where is Summer all year round. Now I live in Northern California and on Winter I always ask myself Why did I ended up here? LOL Life is always better on the beach!

  18. I am there with you, I love summer. I can also tolerate high heat temperatures and I suffer greatly in winter. I have to agree that there is no better way than to celebrate Christmas at the beach. Culebra, Puerto Rico being my most favorite place on earth to celebrate.

  19. I am miserable just reading these facts. I never liked the hot, but somehow life brought me to a tropical island LOL. I am from New York so I am OPPOSITE of loving celebrating Christmas and New Year on a beach!

  20. I am not a heat person at all! And I was even born in a hot country. I do love summer and summer activities but can’t stand when it gets over 90 degrees. Lol

  21. I love the heat over the cold but some of these are definitely too hot for me! I’ve only been to Death Valley and Phoenix from your list and they were so crazy hot!

  22. I have never traveled to many countries outside of the United States, but I can only imagine how hot is it in places such as Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. I travel to Texas often and find it to be very hot there especially in the summer months. I love the heat, as long as it’s more of a dry than humid heat. Thanks for sharing!
