For a long time, I thought airports were simply something you had to put up with. Long queues, crowded departure gates, expensive food, uncomfortable seating, and the constant stress of making sure you didn’t miss your flight all felt like part of travelling.
Like many people, I would arrive at the airport as late as I dared, rush through security, buy an overpriced coffee, and then wait at the gate until boarding started.
