Lazy Bear Lealand Foldable Duffel Bag Review

As an avid traveller, I acquired a large collection of travel bags, ranging from backpacks of all dimensions to cases that even fit the stricter cabin restrictions. However, I have never owned a duffel bag. With most of my travel bags still in storage in Spain, I was struggling to find a suitable luggage combination for my upcoming trip to Hamburg. You see, Hamburg is a fantastic city for shopping, and I booked an extra day in the city so I could go to my favourite shops and stock up with amazing toiletries from DM, chocolate from Lindt and Halloren, a couple of new jumpers from New Yorker and, of course, as many packs of kaiserschmarrn I could fit in. I didn’t want to pay the airline any extra to take an empty suitcase with me to Hamburg though, and I didn’t want to buy a new one there either.

I was still trying to find a solution when Trendhim contacted me and asked if I wanted to review one of their foldable duffle bags. Reading about the quality of the bags, the dimensions and the features, I realised that this was the answer to my trip to Hamburg, so I said that I would. Trendhim sent me their Lazy Bear Lealand Foldable Duffel Bag to try it out and then review it on my blog.

About Trendhim

The brown bag with black handles sat on an antique chest decorated with golden elements. The wallpaper behind is purple, same as the carpet below.

Trendhim is a men’s accessories company which was founded by two friends in 2007, in Denmark. Their products are designed by their in-house team and only available to order through the Trendhim website. Over the years they have developed 13 unique brands focused on, among others, men’s jewellery, watches, sunglasses, belts, leather accessories and sports bags.

They are operating in 28 different countries and in 2017, they were the 10th fastest growing company in Denmark. Currently, they have over 5,000 unique products on their website.

Shipping

The bag was shipped from Denmark and it arrived in five days. I was issued a tracking number once the order was completed, and I received an email from Royal Mail once it entered the country and cleared customs. It was delivered the following day. Trendhim offers free delivery for orders over £25.

About the Lazy Bear Lealand Foldable Duffel Bag

The folded brown bag, sat on a light brown wooden table. In the left corner there is a small corner of a black laptop visible. The bag has a black label on it, on which is written Lazy Bear with orange letters. The tag is tied by the black handle of the bag with an orange string

The moment I opened the parcel I knew that this was going to be the perfect bag to take with me to Hamburg. It was so small and flat! As I unpacked it though, I realised that it’s very spacious and I would have no issues taking full advantage of the 15kg allowance on the flight back to London.

The Lazy Bear Lealand Foldable Duffel Bag is so versatile and can be used in many different ways: as a piece of luggage, as a carry-on, and even as a gym bag.

The Design

A photo of the unfolded bag, on a white bed. The brown bag is sat diagonally, and has a white writing on tops and the Lazy Bear logo at the bottom.

I love the design of the bag and, even though it is practically a men’s bag, it suits my travelling style so well.

Firstly, the colour is really pretty and stands out. I will easily recognise it on the conveyor belt in the Arrivals Hall. I received the brown model, but the bag also comes in black, green, and as a limited edition, in blue.

I thought that the motto “I have been to almost as many places as my luggage” is really cute. This reminded me of the time my luggage was lost on the way to Cuba. When it was finally found and returned to me a couple of months later, the tag on it had a list almost as long as my arm with all the destinations it had travelled to before getting back to me.

The bag opened, photographed from above. Inside there is a black jacket.

The “Explore” tag on the Lealand bag is the definition of the way I like to travel. I always explore rather than just sit on a beach or do nothing for the entire day. The tag is detachable and reflective, same as the writing on the bag, which makes the bag easily recognisable in dark rooms.

Features of the Lazy Bear Lealand Foldable Duffel Bag

The bag is sat on a luggage holder, in a hotel room, next to an old fashioned chair covered with a light cream striped upholstery. The wall behind is covered with purple wallpaper. The carpet on the floor is purple as well.

The duffle bag is made from canvas and polyester, which is a woven textile fabric derived from cotton. This makes it very easy to clean by using just soapy warm water, and brushing gently with a soft brush.

The bag is water resistant, which is a plus especially when travelling to rainy destinations.

Each side of the bag features a large pocket that can hold items which you may need quick access to, such as a bottle of water. I put a big bottle of water in one of the pockets and it fitted comfortably, as well as leaving plenty of space.

As I mentioned before, the bag is extremely spacious, even if at first glance it may not look like it. It can easily be the only bag you will need for a week’s long trip. Once it’s unfolded, the pouch goes inside and creates an extra secure zipped pocket for smaller things such as passport, keys or headphones.

The bag is sat on a couch, sideways. The side pocket is open and has a glass bottle of water inside. The cap of the bottle is green

The duffel bag has two sturdy handles to carry it with, and they are also large enough to allow you to put it over your shoulder. I liked this because it’s so much easier to carry a heavier bag over the shoulder.

Overall, I am extremely happy with the Lazy Bear Lealand Foldable Duffel Bag. I didn’t believe that I needed a duffle bag until I tested this one. The duffle bag costs £59 and it is available to buy on the Trendhim website, by clicking here.

Did you use the bag to keep it folded up on your trip or did you carry it as is? I always wonder when I’d need to keep a bag all zipped up 🙂 Very nice looking bag.

I will keep it folded so I don’t have to pay for a bag in the hold, and then I will use it to bring back the shopping, from Germany.
